It does not seem possible that a year has gone by since we had our last County Swimming Gala, well it has and on Saturday 18th March 2006, 11 Districts of the 12 in the County took part, this was a fantastic turn out and a credit to all the Leaders of the respective Districts that organised their District teams. As I say every year, the sportsmanship, the standard of swimming and the friendship, was once again very good and the delight on the youngsters face when they received their medals was a sight to behold. It is so good to see so many young people able to swim competitively; here is hope for the Olympics in 2008 &2012.

I hope next year, in Scouting’s very special year, we will have all the Districts represented.

I would like to congratulate all the winners and competitors for taking part, also I would like to thank all the Leaders and Parents for the support. I would like to thank all the people that helped run the Gala and to make this years Swimming Gala one of our most successful.
