On Saturday 5th March 2005, the County ran its Annual Scout Chess Competition. There were 26 Scouts representing 7 Districts, which is an increase on last year by two Districts. Please can the other 5 Districts put a team in next year, so we can achieve all 12 Districts taking part?

As I say every time I write this report I am astounded by the standard of chess played by the youngsters.

I would like to thank all the people that helped me in running of this event, especially Ivoir and Edward from Ilford Chess Club that acted as referees and our County Commissioner Dean Milton for presenting the trophy and certificates.

I would like to also congratulate all the winners and players listed below for taking part.
