Over one hundred delegates from around the County attended the County Conference for Commissioners, Group Scout Leaders and Administrators held at the CIC at Gilwell Park on Sunday 8 May.

The day started with an update on Headquarters initiatives led by our Field Development Officer, Simon Aulton and was followed by questions and answers on various topics.

This session was followed by the first of three 'Workshops.' Each delegate chose three workshops from a list of topics including:

• Adult Recruitment
• Child Protection
• Public Relations
• Safety
• Effective Committees
• Fundraising
• Development
• Diversity
• Financial Management
• Managing Disputes

During lunch, delegates had the opportunity to visit a number of stalls and displays covering various topics including:

• DofE
• Active Support
• GLNE's Adult Recruitment Officer Initiative
• Adult Training in GLNE

The final session of the day involved a short presentation on GLNE's Vision and Strategy for 2005 - 2008.
