Scouts See Red For Good Cause

Comic Relief

Comic Relief 2005

Scouts from the 11th Ilford North Scout Group based in Hurstleigh Gardens, Clayhall took part recently in Comic Relief's 'Red Nose Day' and raised £70.00 as a result of their efforts

By holding a 'non uniform' night, Scouts got the opportunity to wear as many red items of clothing as they could find, but it didn't stop there, with mad red hair and faces too!

The evening also included a competition to see who could make the best 'Red Nose' Cocktail and biscuits with mad hair and red noses made from red liquorice, marshmallows and cherries.

Dean Milton, County Commissioner for Greater London North East Scouts commented: "Red Nose Day is an excellent opportunity for Scouts across our County to do what they do best - help others less fortunate than themselves. A number of our group's participated in Comic Relief's Red Nose day, holding fundraising events to raise money for good causes in both Africa and the UK."

"All Scouts when they join make a commitment to 'help other people' and this is just one of many examples of Scouts helping to raise money for good causes around the world"
