Muddy and Wet, but Fun!
Forest Boundary Hike 2002
The 20th Forest Boundary Hike took place on 21 June. After a break of one year caused by the foot and mouth outbreak, 22 teams of young people and adults entered this year's event. Despite being held on the first day of summer (and the longest day) the elements played their part and everyone finished considerably muddier and wetter than they started and most felt older and wiser!
Despite following the same course as in years past it continues to present a navigational challenge for many teams (including those from guest uniformed organisations!) and it was a little disturbing to see people trying to navigate from black and white photocopies of maps. There is clearly some work to be done in the county on navigation skills.
We will be reviewing the event soon and considering next year's plans. Watch this space . . . .
