At the start of the year we sent every Section Leader a booklet called the "County Commissioners Challenge", this book contained a series of challenges to complete each month, which at the end of the year if all challenges are completed members can wear a special "County Commissioners Challenge Badge" throughout 2012. To order these badges please email Doreen Neun, Youth Programme Team Administrator requesting how many, what Group and a postal address.

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Steve Taylor has been appointed as District Commissioner for Chingford. Steve’s appointment will commence from 11th July, however he will not officially take over from Joyce until the Chingford AGM on Monday 18th July, until then any District matters will still be dealt with by Joyce. Steve will use this interim period to meet with any members of the District that he needs to in order to have a number of appointments in place for the AGM, namely his Executive Committee.

There are now two ways you can submit details of youth members who have completed their Chief Scout's Award to ensure they are added to the database and invited to the next Chief Scout’s Award Presentation Evening at Gilwell Park. A new form has been added which allows you to submit the details electronically (and the postcards are still being accepted).

There are also some new resources including "Top Tips", badge requirements and a letter from the CC. Visit the Chief Scout's Award page for more information.

As part of our County Development Plan we are planning to increase the support and provision that the County offers to Districts and directly to Groups. Therefore we are continuing to refresh the County Team structure and have created a number of new exciting roles that will help us achieve our goal of "Better Scouting for more Young People!"
